FAQs for applying for our Scholarships

• When can I apply for a Scholarship? 

Application windows vary for each scholarship we offer and are listed with each scholarship offering.

• How do I apply?

Each scholarship we offer is unique so follow their instructions. Some you may fill out online and upload your additional files. Others may require you to download and print them out and email or mail in.

• How many scholarship may I apply for?

Read each scholarship's application eligibility requirements carefully.  You may apply for all you qualify for, but submit only one application per scholarship.

• Am I eligible? Do I meet the requirements?

Carefully read and consider the requirements for each scholarship to determine if you are eligible to apply. You may apply for more than one, but you may only apply once for each scholarship unless it is renewable.  If you have a question please contact us at GFWCTFallsmt@gmail.com.

• How much money does the scholarship provide? 

Each scholarship we offer is unique and has an intention.  Historically scholarships have ranged in award amounts from $500 up to $5000.

• What's the deadline I need to apply by?

The application submission window deadline is listed for each scholarship and allows us time to consider each applicant.

• When will I be notified if I received the scholarship?

Most awards are provided within a few months of their application deadlines, all are based upon proof of your enrollment or completion.

• Who is on the selection committee?

The people who are on the selection committee are kept anonymous, but please know that they come from the surrounding communities, from a variety of religious or non-religious backgrounds, and are not related to any of the applicants.  In addition, each member of the selection committee must comply with a legally binding and strictly enforced Conflict of Interest policy.

• What are scholarship decisions based on?

Consideration for award selections are based on application completeness (answered all questions, provided all supplemental supporting documents, ...) in addition to applicant's financial need, volunteer community service and merit.

• What if I do not know my exact college plans (undecided on major, where to attend, etc.)?

Although this information is helpful, we encourage you to apply for a scholarship even if you do not know these things now. As the process continues and if you become a recipient, we will eventually need to know the name and address of the college you decide to attend.

• What if I was home-schooled for high school?

Although the state of Montana does not provide or issue high school transcripts for homeschool students, you can still apply by providing a parent created notarized transcript or a college acceptance letter.

• Can I change my application after it is submitted? 

Once you click "Submit" your application responses cannot be changed.
